My name is Eivind Rein and I´m 28 years old. I have been connected to the ocean for as long as I can remember. My father was a sailor for all my childhood years, my mother works at the docks, yes, and my grandfather has, according to my memory, always worked at the docks.

In 1982-83 my father built a model of Happy Hunter, which is a dutch tug boat, but back then my interest wasn´t so great.

But when he began to build a model of M/V Lómur in 1997, I became seriously interested in modelships. The year after, my father began to build another model, and that was of M/V Rókur, of which my brother is the owner. Then I really got hooked. In 1998 I began to get a hold of drawings, assescories etc.

On the 25. of April 1999 another model was finished and launced, that was a model of M/V Viking formerly known as M/V Star Viking. Why I built a model of Viking, I don´t know. The ship wasn´t a pretty sight, but as a model it looked pretty good...
